Director's Message

Dear Parents,

I have been an educator for nearly 30 years. In that time I have swaddled infants, knelt down to the level of toddlers, taught specialized Drama classes to preschoolers and school-age children with autism, directed High School musicals, written curriculum guides and taught post-secondary education through a computer screen. I love everything about teaching and learning and its endless potential to captivate us, bring us joy, and make us a better version of ourselves.

Maria Montessori once said "one test of the correctness of educational procedure is the happiness of the child." Over 15 years ago I toured a Montessori classroom for the first time with my preschool-aged son. As a parent, his face sold me on where he needed to be. As an educator, I have never looked back.

I am delighted to bring everything I love about curriculum, teaching and learning, and the Montessori Philosophy, to my Charleswood community.
